Arrival Mandalay

Arrive by afternoon flight to Tada-Oo International Airport, with the warmly welcome by our representative. Begins the tour with Mandalay Palace, the first palace to be built in Mandalay, by King Mindon when he shifted his capital from Amarapura in 1861, to fulfill an old prophecy, Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the World’s Biggest Book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures and Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city and a spectacular sunset view. It is worthy to have a stroll up the hill enjoying panoramic views from different location. Return can be made by car as there is also a car track by the base of elevator just before the platform. Dinner at a local restaurant. Over night at The Hotel 78 or similar hotel.


Mandalay - Mount Popa - Bagan by coach

Very Early morning, visit famous Mahamuni Pagoda (face washing), one of the most sacred Buddha Image in Mandalay. After breakfast proceed to Bagan, formerly known as 'Pagan', the capital of the present day Myanmar in the 9th to 13th century by coach. On the way to Bagan, en route to Mount Popa which rises 1518 meter from the flat surroundings, an extinct volcano and believed the abode of the legendary Nats (Spirits). On top of the mountain, there are monasteries, pagodas and shrines in different style. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then proceed to Bagan. Check in at the hotel and rest for awhile. Then visit Nanpaya, an Early-style temple with the finest stone carvings, Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross and Shwesandaw Pagoda for the beautiful sunset. Dinner at a local restaurant. Over night at The Floral Breeze Hotel or similar hotel.


Bagan - Mandalay by coach

After breakfast, visit Shwezigon Pagoda a prototype of later Myanmar stupa. Then to Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi Temple with fine mural pain-tings of Jataka scenes. Visit lacquerware industry where you can study traditional Myanmar lacquerware making, Shwe Gukyi temple, the higest temple of Bagan “Thatbyinnyu”, Dhammayangyi, a massive temple with the finest brickwork, Manuha Temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king's impression of life in prison; Lunch at a local restaurant.
(In Bagan there are more than 2000 temples & stupas. Indeed it is difficult to cover all temples within limited time. Therefore we have carefully selected only some major temples for you in order to avoid hectic tourism. But if you want to see more temples, just let your guide or driver knows. They can show you as much temples as possible within your stay.)
After that proceed to Mandalay by coach. It will take about five hours on the way. Dinner at a local restaurant. Check in and rest at the hotel. Over night at The Hotel 78 or similar hotel.


Mandalay - Departure

After breakfast, you will be proceeding to an ancient city of Amarapura, 11 km south of Mandalay highlighting Mahagandayon Monastery, Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images. Then a short visit to Gold foil making cottage industry. Then proceed to 1.2 km long U Bein Wooden Bridge, built since 1782 with over 1700 huge teak pillars, is one of the worth visiting sites. After that, transfer to Tada-Oo International Airport.
